I am generally interested in invasion ecology, plant-insect interactions, and biodiversity. My postdoctoral work has two main focusses. First, how bee diversity changes through time and urbanization using museum specimens. Second, whether the spokesperson communicating a science story influences perceptions of that story. My dissertation focused primarily on determining if plants that are not known to have elaiosome food bodies attached to their seeds engage in ant-mediated seed dispersal and what chemical cues promote this seed-ant removal interaction.
